Infant Program
We emphasize the development of a sense of trust and importance in your child within a warm and nurturing environment. We are proud of our nursery, and the fine care that each baby entrusted to our program receives. Following please find a brief outline of our Infant program.
The Caregivers
Our caregivers are dedicated to providing quality and consistent care for our infants. They provide a loving and nurturing environment and are hand-selected for their genuine love for babies, and their experience in caring for them. Often we hire “Grandmas” for this important position. To ensure a smooth transition from home to our program and back home again our caregivers will communicate with you on an individual basis.
The Nursery
The nursery at Bright Beginnings is a fun and cheerful place for babies to spend their day. A warm and safe environment and positive interactions foster an infant’s sense of trust and self-esteem. The nursery is full of stimulating and safe toys and equipment. There are many opportunities for both large and small motor development. Play activities and interactions focus on the development of large muscles for sitting, crawling, standing, walking and small muscles for grasping, reaching, holding and picking up objects. One of our favorite pieces of equipment is our rocking chair, where much time is spent receiving special attention from our “Grandmas”.
Sanitation
At Bright Beginnings we are very aware of the importance of a safe and sanitary environment for our babies. Each toy is sanitized daily, and once a toy goes into a baby’s mouth, it is sanitized before another child uses it. Our changing table is sanitized after each use, and we practice good hand washing techniques. You will find our nursery is always clean and well organized.
Parent Involvement
Parents are always welcome at Bright Beginnings. You will find our caregivers to be supportive of parents, and encourage their involvement. We strive for consistency between Child Care and Home Care practices, and follow through on all parent requests.
Please feel comfortable at any time to share information with our caregivers about your child’s development, or any concerns you may have. We welcome suggestions on how we can better care for your child. You provide us with your baby’s daily routine and we’ll use that as a guide for your baby’s day with us. Each day we prepare an informative report for your review, listing all information regarding feeding, napping, diapering, and what your child especially enjoyed that day. These have proven very helpful to our families.
Outdoor Play
At Bright Beginnings we have a special play yard just for infants and toddlers. This is equipped with age appropriate climbers, slides, swings, and ride-on toys that will enhance your child’s large motor development, and provide for many fun hours of outdoor explorations.
The Infant Program
Program Infants are cared for in a warm and affectionate way that lets them know they are special people. Infants are provided with a safe space in which to grow, and freedom to move within that space. We provide many opportunities for individual attention, conversation and cuddling that is so important at this stage of development.
Opportunities abound for exploring, learning, and social interaction through a good variety of daily activities. These include sensory stimulation using eyes, ears, fingers, and sense of taste and smell. Appropriate and safe toys and equipment are available for exploration and interaction. Our babies are having fun, and learning many new things!
